| APPOINTMENTS
At this Wiltshire dental practice we see you by appointment only. Our
Receptionists will be pleased to help you during these hours:
8:20am to 12:30pm Monday to Friday
1:20pm to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday
We try our best to be on time for appointments. The commonest cause of
delays is late attendance of patients, which has an inevitable knock on
effect for others. We respectfully ask patients to give themselves adequate
time for parking, especially on Thursdays, which are market days in Devizes.
If you are very early, then take advantage: settle in, read the papers,
sip a coffee!
When making a routine checkup appointment, if you know that you have a
dental problem please inform our Receptionist so that she can allocate
you more time.
Should you call out of hours, there is a recorded message providing information
for emergency situations. There is no facility for you to leave a message.
We ask you to please make any cancellation of appointment providing one
full working day’s notice within our working hours. If that is impossible,
we still appreciate a word or note from you.
EMERGENCIES
During Practice hours:
We try to help at short notice on real dental emergencies (e.g. sudden
pain or haemorrhage) as well as other dental problems such as a broken
filling or denture, a loose crown, or a vague discomfort. We allocate
parts of the day to short notice urgent cases.
Call Reception on 01380-722387 for advice.
If we have time available, then we will try to help genuine distress cases
who are not our registered patients. In this case, the patient will prepay
a fixed fee to cover a brief appointment.
EMERGENCY SERVICES Out of Hours
Advice for our regular patients only:
An emergency rota of local GDPs from private Devizes dental practices
man this service for their patients only.
Out of normal hours there will be a recorded message which advises you
how to contact an emergency dentist. You will be asked to call a pager
operator on 07623-946093 (this number may change and
it is best to check the recorded message).
On connection, a message reminds you of the information to give, then you pass to an operator. The emergency dentist is on duty weekdays end of surgery time to 7.00pm and weekends/public holidays 9.00am to 5.00pm.
It is essential that you give the operator BRIEF information which
must be:
- the patient’s full title and name
- their full STD phone number
- the name of their dentist
Unless this information is supplied then there may not
be a response to your call. This Emergency Service covers only current
regular patients of certain Dental Practices.
There is no need to go into details of the actual problem
with the pager operator – only a small amount of information can be
relayed (by text) to the Duty Dentist, who will then try and contact the
patient. If you attend a practice out of hours you must be prepared to pay
in advance for the service. Our practice sees its own under
18s free for a genuine callout. |
